What to read first

The cooler warranty comparison: every brand's hard, soft and drinkware term in one table, quoted from the maker's own page with the date we read it and a link. Pelican: for life. Engel High Performance: 10 years. YETI Tundra, Roadie, Rambler: 5; Hopper: 3. RTIC Ultra-Tough: 5; Ultra-Light: 3; soft: 1; drinkware: 90 days. Igloo: 1 year on most coolers. Lifetime and Arctic Zone rotomolded: 5. Coleman and Hydro Flask: we could not read their pages, and the table says so rather than guessing. For drinkware, the tumbler warranty comparison does the same job.

Why this is a hub and not a footnote

Because no other cooler site ranks on it. Of the twelve publishers we studied, one gave warranty an award slot and one buried a warranty history in an 8,000-word article last updated in 2021; the rest do not mention it. Yet for a buyer who hates rebuying, the term is the product: a cooler that holds ice for five days and cracks a latch in year three is a three-year cooler unless someone sells the latch. This hub covers both halves of that sentence: the term and the parts.

The terms, explained

A term is only as good as its exclusions. YETI's document excludes punctures, scratches and normal wear, requires the original purchaser and an authorized dealer, and voids coverage for third-party replacement parts. The Yeti warranty explained goes clause by clause. RTIC's chart is the most granular in the industry and its exclusions the sharpest: no coverage for eBay or unauthorized sellers, and a soft cooler zipper gets one year. The parts: what is actually for sale

RTIC sells T-latches, gaskets by size, drain plugs, rope handles and feet for its Ultra-Tough coolers. Engel sells a stainless latch kit, drain plugs, feet and handles for every High Performance cooler. YETI's warranty page says it plainly (“need to upgrade your T-latches ... we have a wide selection of replacement parts”) and Yeti replacement parts lists what that selection is. Stanley excludes lids, seals and straws from its lifetime term and sells them in a Lids collection instead; Klean Kanteen sells a gasket kit that fits every TKWide cap; YETI sells every Rambler lid. When it stops holding ice

It is almost never the foam. A cooler that used to hold ice and doesn't has a dried or torn gasket, a lid that warped in a hot truck, latches that no longer pull the lid down, or a drain plug that lost its o-ring. A tumbler that used to hold ice and doesn't has a lid problem or, rarely, a lost vacuum, which is the one thing every drinkware warranty here actually covers. How we capture a term

We read the maker's warranty page, quote the term as written, link it, and date it. When a maker blocks us (YETI blocks every automated fetch), we say what we used instead: YETI's terms here are quoted from a copy of YETI's own warranty page republished by an authorized dealer and cross-checked against Outdoor Life's May 2026 reporting. When we cannot read a page at all (Coleman, Hydro Flask), the product says “unverified” and its warranty score reflects that. Terms change, so every page in this hub carries the date it was read, and the contact page has a “warranty term changed” option for readers who catch one first.
