The exclusions that matter

Every term above covers “defects in material and workmanship” and excludes normal wear, abuse and misuse. The differences are in the conditions. Who you bought it from: RTIC excludes eBay and third-party sellers by name and requires direct or Authorized Retail Partner purchase; YETI requires an authorized dealer and proof of purchase date; Igloo and Arctic Zone require the original purchaser. A cheap cooler from the wrong seller has no term. What voids it: YETI names “third-party modifications, repairs, or replacement parts”; RTIC names “unauthorized alterations or repairs” and “failure to follow recommended care and use instructions.” Buy the maker's parts. What is wear: YETI lists punctures, scratches and “the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time”; Arctic Zone lists dents, scratches, slight warping and discoloration. Pages we could not read

yeti.com returns 403 to every automated fetch, so YETI's terms are quoted from a copy of YETI's own warranty page republished by Acme Tools, an authorized dealer (the copy carries a 2019 footer), and cross-checked against Outdoor Life's May 2026 reporting of “5 years” for the Roadie 48 and “3 years” for the Hopper M20. coleman.com returns 403 and its archived warranty page returns 410. hydroflask.com returns 403 and its archived warranty page contains no readable text. orcacoolers.com renders nothing without JavaScript. Pelican's support warranty page rendered only navigation, so its lifetime term is quoted from the product pages that state it. For each of these, the products on this site say “unverified” or “as reported by” and score accordingly.

How each term was captured

We fetched the maker's warranty page, quoted the term as written, linked it, and recorded the date. Terms change without notice: The Cooler Zone documents RTIC's hard-cooler term moving from 7 years to 5 to 1 and back over the years, and today's chart says 5 for Ultra-Tough. The date at the top of this page is the promise, the contact page has a “warranty term changed” option, and every product card links to the page its term came from so you can check it yourself before you buy.
