The 10 years
Engel's warranty page, read 2026-09-21: “Engel High-Performance Hard Coolers: 10 Year Limited Warranty,” with the UltraLite UL60 at 5 years, drybox coolers at 5, HD soft coolers at 1, the BP25 backpack at 1, and refurbished products at 1. Yeti's document: 5 years on Tundra and Roadie, 3 on Hopper. Engel also states that repairs are done at its Jupiter, Florida service center, which is a detail Yeti's document does not offer (Yeti's says repair or replace at its discretion after the product is returned). Ten years on a rotomolded box is the longest fixed term on this site; only Pelican's lifetime beats it. The cooler warranty comparison has both, and the Yeti warranty explained reads Yeti's conditions.
Latches: the Engel question
Engel's stock latches are rubber, and owner reviews on Engel's own pages are split on them: 39% of review topics on the stainless-latch product page concern latch quality, one reviewer's stock latch fell off at two years, and others call the stainless kit “vastly superior to the original.” Engel's answer is to sell the stainless assembly (one latch, one keeper, four M4 screws) for every High Performance cooler. Yeti's rubber T-latches have a keeper pin and are sold as parts too. On this site's repairability axis both score 8–9; the honest note is that the Engel is more likely to need the part and more likely to be improved by it. Latch, gasket and drain plug replacement shows the swap.
