Hard Coolers / Guide
The best cooler brands, ranked on warranty, parts and measured ice
Nine brands whose pages we could read, scored on what they put on paper and what the tests measured. The order is not the order the ads suggest.

The ranking
| # | Brand | Hard-cooler warranty (quoted) | Parts sold | Best measured ice (source) | Why here |

| 3 | RTIC | 5 years (Ultra-Tough); 3 (Ultra-Light) | Yes: latches, gaskets by size, plugs, handles, feet | 5.8 d, Ultra-Light 52 (OutdoorGearLab) | Same term as Yeti, more ice per dollar, fullest parts page. |
| 4 | Yeti | 5 years (Tundra, Roadie); 3 (Hopper) | Yes: latches, lids, plugs, handles | 6.8 d, Roadie 48 (OutdoorGearLab) | The best single cooler; the deepest ecosystem; mid-pack Tundras. |
| 5 | Arctic Zone / Titan | 5 years (rotomolded) | Not verified | 118 h, Titan Pro 55Q (Outdoor Life) | Outdoor Life's Best Overall; maker site unreachable. |
| 6 | Lifetime | 5 years | Not verified | None found | Budget 5-year term; no test on record. |
| 7 | Igloo | 1 year (most); 3 (Super Tough); 5 (Sportsman/Yukon rotomold) | Some (handles; parts warranted 1 yr) | 122 h, Trailmate 50 (Outdoor Life) | The best cheap ice; the shortest terms. |

Brand by brand
Pelican. Every Elite cooler page says “Guaranteed for life,” the spec sheets list stainless hardware and polyurethane insulation by the inch, and the one Pelican Outdoor Life tested matched the Roadie 48. Heavy, expensive, and the top of this list because nobody else puts “life” on the product page. Pelican vs Yeti.
Engel. The original rotomolded marine cooler, 10 years on the High Performance line, a stainless latch kit that fits all of them, plugs and feet and handles sold. Measured ice slightly behind Yeti and RTIC. Engel vs Yeti.
RTIC. 5 years on Ultra-Tough, 3 on Ultra-Light, the fullest parts page on the site, and more measured ice per dollar than anyone. The soft coolers (1 year) and drinkware (90 days) are why RTIC is not higher. RTIC coolers review.
Yeti. The Roadie 48 is the best cooler in the tests we cite; the Tundras are mid-pack; the 5-year and 3-year terms are documented and stable; the parts catalog is advertised on the warranty page itself; and the drinkware term (5 years) is the best of any cooler brand. Fourth here only because Pelican, Engel and RTIC do the hard-cooler job for longer or for less. Is a Yeti cooler worth it.
Arctic Zone / Titan, Lifetime. Both put 5 years on paper. Titan's Pro 55Q won Outdoor Life's 2026 test; Lifetime's 55 has no test we found. Neither has a parts page we could verify. Lifetime vs Yeti.
Igloo. The Trailmate 50 held ice longer than every rotomolded cooler in Outdoor Life's test, at $120, on a 1-year term. Igloo's chart gives 3 years to Super Tough and 5 to its Sportsman and Yukon rotomolded lines, which we have not sourced. The best brand for a cooler you replace and the worst for one you keep.
Brands we could not rank
ORCA (a lifetime term reported by retailers; the maker's site rendered nothing we could quote), Xspec, Monti, Ninja, Rovr and Kanga (no maker page read for this build). They may be good coolers. This site does not rank what it cannot source, and they are on the content ledger for a future pass.

How we scored this
Units we claim to have tested: 0
Plenty of sites say they filled every cooler on this list with ice and watched it for a week. We don't say that, and we say so on every page. What we do instead: read the maker's published capacity, insulation, dimensions and weight; quote the warranty term from the maker's own warranty page with the date we read it; check whether the latches, gaskets, plugs, lids and straws are sold as parts; and cite the third-party ice-retention tests (OutdoorGearLab, Outdoor Life, Treeline, Outside, Gear Patrol) as their measurements, never ours. Every figure links to where it came from.
Scores are editorial judgments from that documented research, not lab results. Commissions never set a score or decide a pick. The rubric and its weights are published.
Questions
Frequently asked
What are the best cooler brands besides Yeti?
RTIC (same 5-year term, more measured ice per dollar, fullest parts page), Engel (10 years), Pelican (lifetime). See coolers like Yeti but cheaper.
Which cooler brand has the best warranty?
Pelican: “Guaranteed for life” on Elite coolers. Then Engel at 10 years, then Yeti, RTIC, Lifetime and Arctic Zone at 5 on their rotomolded lines.
Is Igloo a good brand?
For cheap ice, the best: the Trailmate 50 led Outdoor Life's test at $120. For a cooler you keep, no: most Igloo coolers carry 1 year.
Why isn't ORCA ranked?
Its site rendered no readable product or warranty text when we fetched it, and this site does not rank products it cannot source. The lifetime term is reported by retailers only.
Did you test any of these brands?
No. Units we claim to have tested: 0. Ice figures are OutdoorGearLab's and Outdoor Life's; terms are quoted from each maker.

We don't claim to have tested these coolers or tumblers and we don't pretend to. Units we claim to have tested: 0. Specs come from the maker's own product pages (linked on every product), warranty terms from the maker's warranty page with the date we read it, and ice-retention measurements are attributed to whoever made them. Amazon prices change often, so we don't print them. Where a figure isn't published, we say so. Read the full method.
