How long does a Yeti keep ice? Every measured number, model by model

Hard coolers

Two findings stand out. First, the Yeti that holds ice longest is the wheeled Roadie 48, and it is not close: 6.8 days against the Tundra 45's 4.1 in the same lab, a gap of two and a half days between two coolers that share a foam, a gasket and a term. The Roadie is tall, which means less lid per quart, and the lid is where cold escapes. Second, the Tundras are mid-table: the Tundra 45 ranked 17th of 23 and the Tundra 65 8th in OutdoorGearLab's July 2026 list, behind RTIC's Ultra-Light 52 and 65 and even the $85 Coleman Classic 65 on the 40°F axis. Where Yeti wins a head-to-head is Outside Lab's 96-hour sealed box, in which the Tundra Haul held ice and an RTIC 52 did not. Hopper soft coolers

The M20 backpack is the best soft cooler in OutdoorGearLab's 19-cooler September 2026 table at 3.6 days, and Outdoor Life's Best Backpack at 55 hours with one-third ice. The Flip 18 (2.4 days) and Flip 12 (1.6) are mid-table; a $95 AO Coolers canvas bag out-held both. The Rambler

Yeti publishes no hour figure for Rambler drinkware on the pages we could read; the retailer copy says the Rambler “keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold down to the last sip” and that the MagSlider lid is not leakproof. Treeline's daily-use test reported the Rambler Travel Mug kept “water cold all day.” For a stated number, Stanley (“iced 2 days”) and Klean Kanteen (“iced up to 66 hours”) put one on the box, and best tumblers for cold drinks ranks on it. Frozen food and ice cream

No test we cite measured a Yeti holding food frozen. The thresholds the labs use are 40°F (food safe) and 50°F (drinkable), and a cooler that holds 40°F for five days is not holding 32°F for five days, let alone the 0°F ice cream wants. For frozen food over more than a day, the tool is dry ice in a cooler rated for it (OutdoorGearLab lists the Tundra Haul as dry-ice compatible), and dry ice in a cooler covers the safety and the math. Ice cream in a Yeti with regular ice is an afternoon.
